Not much in it at the end of the league. This proved to be a very worthwhile league with evenly matched teams competing for honours.

Congratulations to our successful team
This was the club’s first venture into the Ulster League which included teams from Antrim, Monaghan and Ards.
The final games were played out in the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny on Saturday 8th June, needing one victory to ensure the league success; Shimna assured this with a comprehensive win 32 – 14 over Antrim Borough SOC.
The final game of the league proved to be one of the most exciting and nail biting games played in recent years against Monaghan SOC .
Monaghan went into an early lead only to be overhauled by a gallant Shimna Team. The scores went one way then another until ending in a draw at fulltime. As the game went into overtime, Shimna took the lead only to be equalised by Monaghan. With seconds on the clock Monaghan scored the decisive and final basket to win the game 15 -13.
Many thanks to the team at Special Olympics Ulster who organised the league and ensured all arrangements were in place at each venue. Thanks also to the volunteers and family members of Shimna Stars Special Olympics who supported the team throughout the season and to those volunteers who accompanied the team to Letterkenny for the weekend, Danny,Lucy,Orla, Michelle,Mark,Michael,Leigh,John and bus driver James ''Slippers'' Rogan.
The entire squad were a credit to their families and to the club. Thanks also to Ards Wizards who shared the journey and the experience with us. This was a truly worthwhile venture and learning experience.
Team: Aaron Watt, DavidMcCrum, Glenn McBride, Liam Hennessy, Niall Rogan, Patrick Hennessy, Peter Watts, Sean Brannigan, Larry Swift.
